This workshop is for those seeking a calm space to step into the present moment and have fun creating. Where we shake off the day, move into a guided meditation, calming our nervous system where we can then create from. Letting yourself express and paint how ever feels right for you.

In depth breakdown of the session
Movement includes an opportunity to shake off the day, week, or anything on the mind. It allows the individual to step out of the mind and become present in the body. Amongst all that serious stuff, it gives us permission to let go and just have a little fun. Movement is great for building self acceptance, connecting to the body, letting go of negative thought patterns and triggers the release of numerous feel good hormones like dopamine and serotonin.
Meditation will be guided, moving our nervous system out of a sympathetic response (fight or flight) and into the parasympathetic response (rest and repair). By bringing our awareness inwards we allow our mind and body to rest. This guided meditation will bring individuals no where else but the present moment, connecting to the breath and restoring the natural balance to the mind body and spirit. From this calm state we create.
Create/ paint each session will have a different theme, all will have a creative activity. The most duration of this session will be creating. Coming from a meditation into creative activities allow the individual to process and express things that may feel safe to come up, or it may simply be a beautiful process of being in the moment, you paint and canvas. There is no one size fits all, no session will be the same, no person will have the same experience or piece of art despite the same guidance… this is the beauty of art therapy, it showcases the beauty in all and the uniqueness.
Share/ journal to end the session. Sharing is short and sweet and Bee the Sunshine it is in our guidelines that everyone gets an opportunity to speak without interruption. Sharing IS INVITATION ONLY, no person is expected to share anything they dont wish. Journals will be provided and prompts may be offered, again this is all invitation, it is your session, we simply guide you and offer tools you may wish to take.
Tea and snacks will be provided, this is not a full course meal just little nibbles. There will be a break in the middle of class for this opportunity. PLEASE fill out the intake form thoroughly to ensure if you have any allergies you communicate these.
